Toronto is a busy city, and we can’t all go on exotic vacations or beach holidays. That being said, this city has some great options for a little daytime getaway to unwind, soak up some sun, and get the most out of a summer in the city.
Looking for a relaxing day at the beach or some family fun? In the heart of the Beaches is Woodbine Beach, the beach that really has it all. You can lay and play in the sand on this expansive beach or walk the boardwalk and grab some ice cream on the way. Beach-goers can even rent paddle boards or pick up a game of beach volleyball on one of the countless courts!
Centre Island Beach
Centre Island Beach is the perfect spot for families in the summer. A large rock divider breaks the waves and prevents children from going very deep, but it’s not just for families! This large beach has ample space for everyone to enjoy, as well as a nearby bar when you feel the need for refreshment.
Also located on Toronto Island, Hanlan’s Point is a beautiful beach more suited to the free-spirit. This clothing-optional beach is the ideal spot to get that perfect tan, sans tan-lines.
While not as large as some of the others, Sugar Beach can make for a great little getaway without leaving downtown. You can’t swim here, but the pretty pink umbrellas and white sand are a nice distraction from the hustle and bustle of downtown life. Grab a cool drink, pick a lounge chair, and treat yourself to some well deserved “me time” at Sugar Beach while watching the boats come in.
Cabana Pool Bar
Located at Polson Pier, Cabana Pool Bar brings the Vegas-style pool party to Toronto. This is the place for you if you are looking for an all-day party, as opposed to the family fun of the beaches. Fun in the sun is guaranteed with great music and a full 100 ft poolside bar.
Muzic Pool Bar
The newest addition to the Toronto dayclub scene, Muzic Pool Bar is opening following the long-running success of Muzic Nightclub. This dayclub is sure to attract Toronto’s hottest to cool off in one of its three pools.
