Wanderlust Wednesday: 7 Places to Bring Dad for Father's Day in Toronto

Posted on June 11 2014

This upcoming Sunday, June 15th is Father's Day. Why not veer from your traditional afternoon BBQ with dad and take him somewhere he really wants to go. Skip the "thoughtful" gifts and take him out for some quality time with the fam by doing something he's been wanting to try! Here are 7 cool places to bring Dad for this Father's Day:

7. Local Brewery- Take Dad on a trip to a local brewery. If your Dad loves a good beer he will love this trip! Spend the day tasting new flavour beers. Who knows, maybe he'll even find his drink of choice for the summer.

Check out Bellwoods Brewery

Bellwoods Brewery, Ossington Avenue, Toronto, ON, Canada

6. Score Tickets- Take Dad to a Jays game or plan a weekend away to see his favourite team in action!

5. Shopping- But not the kind of shopping you're thinking of ladies! Take Dad somewhere he wants to browse  and carry his bags. Today the roles have reverse because it's Father's Day. Dad will love Golf Town, Pro Hockey Life or Bass Pro Shops if not all three!

Golf Town

266 King Street West TorontoON

Pro Hockey Life

1 Bass Pro Mills Dr, Vaughan, ON

Bass Pro Shops

1 Bass Pro Mills Dr, Vaughan, ON

4. Dude Flick- Yes, you heard us. A dude flick. Not some cheesy romantic comedy that dad gets dragged to by mom all year. We're talkin' a great action film with special effects, fighting, blood the whole bit.

Check out Edge of Tomorrow at Scotiabank Theatre Toronto

259 Richmond Street West Toronto, ON

3. Take Him Out for a Good Steak- What's a dish almost every male on earth loves? Steak. Take dad out for a nice steak he doesn't have to cook himself. Bring the whole fam out for an evening to hangout and indulge in great food.

Check out Barberian Steak House

 7 Elm St, Toronto, ON

2. Golf- Get your argyle and Lacoste out. Rather than sending Dad off with his buddies for a day of golf follow him there and put your best effort into playing a round of golf with him (if you aren't a pro already). He will enjoy the sport and love having you there to teach you his pointers.

Check out Flemingdon Park Golf Club

Edgecliff Golfway, Toronto, ON

1. Rent a Boat- Treat Dad to a day on the water! Spend Father's Day watching Dad whip around in a speed boat or relaxing on a sail boat. This time of year is perfect to spend a few hours exploring the waters and he will love this gesture because not only is it manly but thoughtful too.
