4. Kimberly Newport-Mimran
Fashion Designer/ CEO Pink Tartan/ Co-founder Joe Fresh
Niagara Falls, ON
Kimberly Newport-Mimran was raised in beautiful Niagara Falls, ON. Her love for fashion began at a young age but peaked when she got her first job in retail at the age of 14. When deciding on a career upon graduating high school it was not a difficult choice for her. She wanted to be a fashion designer. That September she moved to Toronto to begin her studies in Apparel Manufacturing Management at George Brown. After graduating she immediately was hired on with the Hudson's Bay Company where she worked for 3 years making connections while on the buying team. She then accepted a job with Club Monaco in product development and merchandising where she met her current husband CEO of Club Monaco Joe Mimran. Shortly after she and Mimran married and had children. After a brief period to start her family she launched Pink Tartan, her current company dedicated to her love of design and dedication to the modern sophisticated woman. She is now a "supermom" running her own company, assisting her husband's company Joe Fresh and being a mom to their daughter Jaqueline.
3. Tommy Ton
Fashion Photographer/ Blogger
Tommy grew up like most of us Canadians watching Jeanne Beker on Fashion Television, but what really sparked his interest in fashion was an interview on tv with Tom Ford. His subtle words describing his line with such mystery and masculinity made Ton want more. His first job in the industry was with designer Wayne Clark meanwhile photographing at parties in Toronto. His talent for photography was quickly noticed but what makes his worldwide famous street style blog JakandJil.com so addictive is his unique eye for fashion. Often enough his photographs aren't on trend, then months later the runway are influenced by his photos. Tommy is now working with GQ and Style.com while still keeping his blog up to date and a success!
2. Coco Rocha
This Canadian 25 year old is known for one thing and one thing only. Being a model, and a damn good one. They call her a "chameleon" for the simple fact that she can adapt to any look, designer, character and set. Coco (born Mikhalia) was found in 2002 at an Irish dance competition by Charles Stuart a modelling agent in the audience. Her modelling career took off and she instantly began studying fashion since before her debut into the fashion world she knew nothing. Today she's made countless appearances in Elle Magazine, Viktor Magazine, InStyle Magazine, Dazed Magazine and has walked for over 126 designers worldwide.
