Slim Down for Summer!

Summer is here and it's time to get into your new bikini from Kalloné. We all want to feel sexy and confident when its time to take off your coverup at the beach, right? But with a hectic schedule it is always hard to make the time to get to the gym. We've come up with some helpful (and reasonable) tips to slim down for summer!

 

 

10. BE RATIONAL 

We'd all like to lose an unreasonable amount of weight in a short period of time but it isn't healthy or effective. If you make rational decisions about your weight loss that are within reach and maintainable you will be successful! Start by determining how much weight you'd like to lose or simply where you would like to tone up. Are you an early bird? A night hawk? Or both? If you are an early bird get your workout done in the morning. If you like to sleep in plan your workouts at night, that way you are making your goals achievable and you aren't making excuses for yourself. 

 

9. GET INSPIRED

Go out and buy some new bright and fun workout gear (Kalloné has a great workout selection)! Get excited to change your lifestyle. Get on Pinterest. Pin some photos of at home workouts, a body you'd like to achieve, healthy eating habits and workout playlists. Finally, make the background on your phone or tablet of the body you'd like to achieve. That way you are constantly reminded of what you are working towards. 

 

8. DO YOUR RESEARCH

Research and make notes. Research what kind of workouts are going to cater to where your problem areas are and what you'd like to change on your body. Research fun ways to exercise and a diet plan that incorporates food you love. Research recipes of dishes you eat now that are tweaked in a way that you aren't consuming as many calories normally. 

 

7. DRINK LOTS OF WATER

You see it in every weight loss book and website for a reason. Water helps weight-loss, keeps you hydrated and curbs your appetite. It keeps you healthy and makes your skin look great too!

 

6. OPT FOR THE "SKINNY" ROUTE

If you think like a thin person you'll feel like it too! Always think back to the words of Kate Moss "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". Opt for the healthier version of your day to day diet. Drink water instead of juice, add skim milk to your coffee instead of cream, and indulge in your research on foods like "guilt free ice cream".

5. HAVE A CHEAT DAY

You can't wrench it through an entire diet without having a little treat here and there. Plan to have one "Cheat Day" a week. Whether that be a piece of cake after dinner, a burger and fries for lunch or a big plate of pasta for dinner let that be what you look forward to all week!

 

4. SLEEP RIGHT

Again, another tip you see in all weight loss books and blogs. Sleep is so important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. A couple extra hours of sleep a night can go a long way. It can help you kick start your morning, get through a full work day or school day and keep you energized. Sleep will give you that extra boost you need at the gym or through a run so get to bed ASAP.

 

3. THROW IN SOME CARDIO

Now that it is summer time it's especially easy to incorporate some cardio into your daily routine. Go for a quick 30 minute jog before you shower in the morning, go for a walk with a friend on lunch break or go for a late night run after it cools down. Cardio is an easy way to exercise, burn calories and feel great too! 

 

2. EAT CLEAN 

If you think you'll feel like crap after you eat it then you probably shouldn't. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables just like your mom taught you. Experiment with spices and light sauces to make what you think "bland"  healthy foods taste great. Keep in mind of portions and get in your proteins too! Get some recipes from a friend or from the internet and always pack your lunch!

 

1. STAY POSITIVE

Staying positive during the process of weight loss is key. You are not going to see results right away and the only wait to see great results is to be patient and work hard. They say you don't see results in yourself until after 4 weeks of dieting and exercise and 8 weeks until your friends and family notice. Keep up the hard work and enjoy that "ahh" moment when the coverup at the beach comes off!
